 Kermit Elementary School Kermit Elementary School is the brand-new campus for Kermit ISD. Kermit Elementary will serve all elementary-aged students of KISD, from pre-kindergarten up to Fifth Grade. Kermit Elementary replaces the former Purple Sage Elementary and East Primary Elementary. The building is built to the latest standards, including full handicapped accessiblity and is equipped with the latest technologies. Our staff is made up of the former teachers of both Purple Sage and East Primary, with a few new additions. Our teachers are dedicated to the best interests of our students. Kermit Elementary strives to offer the best education possible, as well as some fun activities along the way. PRE-KINDERGARTEN CERTIFIED "TEXAS SCHOOL READY" Kermit ISD's preschool program (formerly located at East Primary) was recognized by the Children's Learning Institute, Thursday, October 23, 2008, in a ceremony at Region 18 Education Service Center as being certified "Texas School Ready." Our program has repeated that accomplishment for 2009, with Shannon Rushing's preschool class! Texas School Ready!TM is a program that certifies preschool education classrooms that effectively prepared their students for kindergarten.
