It is the mission of Kermit Independent School District to provide education of the highest quality for the students of this school district regardless of race, socioeconomic background or creed.

We pledge to meet the needs of all students by providing appropriate instruction to match students' intellectual abilities in order to prepare them to fulfill their potential and be productive members of society.  (Policy AE)

2009-2010

District goals and objectives

1. All Kermit ISD campuses will improve their TAKS scores in the areas of reading, math, writing, English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies during the 2009-2010 school year in order to meet recognized status of 75% passing for all tests, before the year 2010

2. Kermit ISD will involve more teachers and parents in the decision-making process, in addition to increasing parental involvement in school activities.

3. Kermit ISD will maintain the district' s dropout rate of one percent or less while maintaining an attendance rate of 95% or greater. 

4. Kermit ISD will, in a progressive, pro-active manner, integrate technology at all grade levels and campuses.

5. Kermit ISD will enhance the implementation of a comprehensive program to address the needs of all students.

6. Kermit ISD will implement strategies to decrease drug abuse and violent/aggressive behavior and to assure student/employees safety on all campuses.

7. Kermit ISD will provide quality professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
